The collection of twenty-five poems is duly entitled “The Gen-Y Poet.” The collection revolves around human life in the modern era as seen by an unassuming youth from the infamous Generation-Y, touching upon contemporary hot topics: sedition, persecution, terrorism, rape, hunger, poverty, climate change, and global warming; along with more traditional topics such as friendship, parenthood, nature, and love. The poems are varying in length, ranging from a few paragraphs to a few pages, employing different styles and poetic devices.
This book is for people who are in touch with their humanity and enjoy the occasional poem. Poetry is an acquired taste, and people either love it or hate it. This short-collection is meant to entertain, educate, and inspire; irrespective of cultural, societal or even geographical differences.
I write because I love writing, nothing else can provide me the same satisfaction, except perhaps having readers.
