As the son of a State Governor in Chad, Sayed Shaquille Ahamat, has little to worry about. Having come from the Zarghawa tribe whose habitat spans the border of Libya and Chad, he looks upon himself as a warrior. But the battles he has to fight are very different from those of his ancestors. His family expects him to eventually take over his father's business, marry a local girl and settle down, and there is little reason for him not to fulfil their wishes. But a polo accident that leaves him nearly paralyzed below the hip and hence confined to a wheel chair turns his life topsy turvy. Troubled by his pain and the strong medication that he is required to take, he struggles to come back to a semblance of normality. Efforts to find lasting relief in his condition bring him into contact with an ayurvedic treatment centre in Sharjah, where the recommended physiotherapy techniques provides excellent results. The head of the treatment centre is the beautiful ascetic, Ritambhara Devi, and Shaquille falls head over heels in love with her. To everyone's surprise, she reciprocates his feelings and the two have to go through a complicated arrangement to stay together. Meanwhile, Ritambhara is given more and more responsibility at the Swami Samarthanand Ashram where she has lived since childhood. She is not willing to give up her country, her religion and her Guruji in order to join Shaquille. Neither is Shaquille willing to forsake his way of life. In the course of events, Guruji passes away but his last wish is that Ritambhara should become the spiritual head of the Ashram. She has no choice but to accept the mantle. Gradually as she gains control over the organization, she closes down the Sharjah Ashram where it all began, and opens branches in different parts of India. In her personal life too, she makes an arrangement with her lover to meet for a few days every month, so that she can have the best of both worlds. Shaquille also agrees to her proposal. One
