Iris and the Tree is a fantasy picture-novel about a little girl who discovers a speaking tree in the park. Fascinated, the little girl accepts the tree’s invitation to explore the stories inside its world in any form she wants. The little girl immediately chooses to become an adult and calls herself ‘Iris’. Before they begin, the tree warns Iris that once she enters, she cannot escape her world. But curious little girl that Iris is, she gives little heed to the tree’s warning as stories come alive one by one filled with acute observations on life, death, fear, love and loneliness that the tree has kept inside it for years. The tree warns Iris again that she can never fall asleep while listening to these stories, else her heart will be taken away by the dead spirits inside its world. But then, Iris is just a child. Will she manage to stay awake and eventually find her way back home?
