Happy New Year

So here it comes again,

Asking me what did I gain?

The last day of another year is here,

And I am where I was last year.

It asks me, "what is the change,

You look a year older; you are playing my game,

People around you are getting lesser every year,

Aren't you sad, ain't your heart full of fear?"

I look at the Last Year and mouth, "O Dear!"

'I see you got a short sight and so you can’t see clear,

Come I'll show you what is true beyond your vision,

How happy I am to welcome new season.

My old friends are away, it's because of a reason,

They’re fulfilling their endeavours and living their passion,

The great Grandmother got relieved from pain,

When she finally left mortality and felt like saint.

My parents enjoying their Grandchild touching his little fingers,

You'll see my love hugging me soon if his absence is what you wonder,

I am growing old with him and that's what I always wished for,

The wrinkle on my skin attest the years we spent together

and we still lure for more.

I believe it’s your worry that has covered your eyes,

You feel sad looking at people who wave you good bye.

But don't forget you are going nowhere as the past lives in history,

Let's live today coming to us as a present, for who knows, as they say,

future is a mystery.
