When I see, I sing! is a translated collection of verses of four mystic poets, Baba Farid, Namdeo, Kabir and Rahim. While there are other collections of verses of mystic poets, four features in one space makes it unique. Firstly, while there are several translations of Kabir and Rahim, there are very few translations of Baba Farid and Namdeo, who antedated them. Secondly, illustrations in this work reveal and accentuate the hidden meanings and emotions of the verses. The beauty of original verses, translations and illustrations make it a unique experience for the reader, or seer! Thirdly, to our mind, the translations are easy to understand, contemporary and lyrical, while retaining the meaning and essence of the original. Finally, a detailed introduction to lives and times of these four mystics and poets help the reader locate their writings in the historical context, as well as help her see the universality and timelessness of these messages.
